Energy Modeling of Buildings deals with a great many numbers. Each number or variable has a distinct effect on the efficiency of a building.
This chart shows different variables and their general effect on efficiency as they are either increased (up arrow) or decreased (down arrow). It is important to note that this chart is very general and won't apply to all climates, or buildings.
Note: "Conservative Modeling" practices picks the values that have the most efficient energy impact on the model. Often modeling guidelines use words like "Maximum" and "Minimum" to keep baseline buildings as efficient as possible so that comparisons are not over exaggerated.
